A white orchid holds its petals open in near-perfect symmetry, a wash of pale green marking the throat at its center. The form belongs to Phalaenopsis, the moth orchid — among the most widely grown of the orchid family, which with roughly twenty-eight thousand species is one of the largest groups of flowering plants on earth. Where most blooms last days, a Phalaenopsis flower can hold for two to three months, and its fused central column carries both male and female organs in a single structure. The frontal close-up lets that bilateral symmetry anchor the frame, white petal against neutral ground. The photograph captures the orchid at its most composed.

Returns — Arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered? Email ingo@elfering.com within 30 days with photos and we'll send a free replacement — or a full refund if we can't replace it. Because every piece is made to order, we don't accept change-of-mind returns.
