Sunflower Field - Bright Yellow Summer Landscape Photography

A field of sunflowers fills the frame edge to edge, thousands of golden heads turned in the same direction beneath a bright summer sky. The common sunflower, Helianthus annuus, is native to North America and was domesticated for its seeds more than three thousand years ago; what reads as a single bloom is in fact a composite of hundreds of tiny florets, arranged in the interlocking spirals of the Fibonacci sequence. Young plants track the sun from east to west, but mature heads settle facing east. The photograph holds the field at eye level, letting the repetition of form carry the image — a landscape built entirely from one flower, multiplied past counting.
