The rusted bow of an old whaling vessel rears against a sky of churning grey cloud, its mast and rigging stark above the corroded steel hull, the name barely legible along the prow. Beached relics like this line the shores of South Georgia at former whaling stations such as Grytviken, left where they were abandoned when the industry collapsed. The dramatic sky amplifies the sense of ruin. Industrial history rusting at the edge of the Southern Ocean.
