The red-brick Lucky Strike building rises against a deep blue sky, its tall smokestack lettered vertically with LUCKY STRIKE, a rooftop sculpture of a reclining figure, and a rusting cylindrical water tower alongside. The former tobacco factory anchors Richmond, Virginia's Tobacco Row, a district of late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century warehouses along the James River since converted to residences. The saturated sky throws the brick and white lettering into sharp relief. Industrial heritage preserved as cityscape, branding and all.
