London Eye Ferris Wheel II - Blue Sky Architecture Photography

The white spokes of the London Eye sweep across a deep blue sky above the Thames, the wheel's cable structure radiating out from the hub in a tight fan. Opened in 2000 and rising 135 meters over the South Bank, it remained the tallest cantilevered observation wheel in the world for nearly a decade and reshaped the river's skyline almost overnight. Its design carries the entire rim on a single A-frame support, a piece of engineering disguised as a fairground ride. This frame crops close on the spokes, letting the radiating lines and the flat blue do all the work. A photograph of structure turned into rhythm.
