The Sphinx Observatory crowns the summit of Jungfraujoch at 3,571 meters, its silver dome and research platforms perched impossibly atop a snow-covered rocky pinnacle in the Swiss Alps. Known as the "Top of Europe," this is the highest permanently staffed research station on the continent and one of the most dramatic man-made structures on Earth. Against a flawless deep blue alpine sky, the observatory clings to its frozen throne like a fortress of science above the clouds where astronomers, meteorologists, and glaciologists work year-round in conditions that few humans could endure.

Shipping — Each print is produced on demand at the partner lab nearest you (US, UK, mainland Europe, and 10+ countries), so it travels the shortest distance. Production 1–4 business days; delivery roughly 3–6 days in the US, UK & EU and 5–10 days rest of world, tracked. EU orders are produced within the EU, so no import duties apply.
Returns — Arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered? Email ingo@elfering.com within 30 days with photos and we'll send a free replacement — or a full refund if we can't replace it. Because every piece is made to order, we don't accept change-of-mind returns.
