Ha Long Bay Islands - Vietnam Emerald Water Panoramic Photography

Sale price$39.00

Limestone islands rise in scattered ranks from the emerald water of Ha Long Bay, their forested summits fading into haze toward the horizon. The bay lies in the Gulf of Tonkin in northern Vietnam and holds some 1,600 karst islands and islets — towers of limestone shaped by roughly 500 million years of erosion and shifting sea levels. Its name translates as "descending dragon," and it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. The panoramic framing spreads the formations across the full width of the image, each island a separate dark mass on the pale water. A drowned mountain range, recorded as seascape.
