Grasshopper in a Sunflower - Macro Nature Photography Print
Free worldwide shipping · Made to order & shipped from a lab near you · Arrives in ~5–8 days (US) · Damaged? Free replacement.
A grasshopper stares directly into the lens from its throne at the center of a sunflower bud, its striped body and angular limbs perfectly framed by the soft green petals folding around it like a botanical armchair. The head-on perspective gives the insect an almost confrontational presence - two dark compound eyes meeting the camera with what can only be described as attitude. The warm golden-green palette unifies subject and setting, while the macro detail reveals textures invisible to the naked eye: the fine hairs on the sepals, the segmented legs gripping the flower's surface, the intricate pattern of the folded wings. It is a portrait as intimate and characterful as any human one, reminding us that personality exists at every scale in the natural world. Works well in a bedroom, a guest room, or a quiet corner. It makes a considered gift for anyone who has been on safari.
