The red Glacier Express curves across the Landwasser Viaduct and straight into a tunnel mouth cut in the cliff, the train's panoramic cars hugging the stone arches above a forested gorge in the Swiss Alps. Completed in 1902, the limestone viaduct stands 65 metres high on six tapering arches and bends directly into the rock. Shot from a following carriage, the train and bridge make a single sweeping line. Alpine railway engineering at its most photographed.
