A line of footprints curves across Iceland's famous black volcanic sand toward an empty horizon, the only human mark on a beach where the grains are crushed basalt fragments left behind by some of the youngest lava on Earth. Reynisfjara and Solheimasandur, the two beaches most photographers come to walk, sit on the south coast of the island directly across the North Atlantic from Antarctica, and the wind that comes off that water has been carrying volcanic dust for thousands of years. Rendered in black and white, the image strips the scene to texture and direction — sand, prints, and the suggestion of someone who has just walked through.

Shipping — Each print is produced on demand at the partner lab nearest you (US, UK, mainland Europe, and 10+ countries), so it travels the shortest distance. Production 1–4 business days; delivery roughly 3–6 days in the US, UK & EU and 5–10 days rest of world, tracked. EU orders are produced within the EU, so no import duties apply.
Returns — Arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered? Email ingo@elfering.com within 30 days with photos and we'll send a free replacement — or a full refund if we can't replace it. Because every piece is made to order, we don't accept change-of-mind returns.
