A weathered bronze guardian lion sits on a carved stone plinth before the painted eaves and red columns of an imperial hall, its mane curled in tight rows and one paw resting on an ornamented ball. Paired guardian lions — a male with a ball, a female with a cub — flank the gates and halls of the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Ming and Qing imperial palace completed in 1420. The bright polychrome bracketing above contrasts with the green-patinated bronze below. Imperial symbolism cast in metal, standing watch for six centuries.

Returns — Arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered? Email ingo@elfering.com within 30 days with photos and we'll send a free replacement — or a full refund if we can't replace it. Because every piece is made to order, we don't accept change-of-mind returns.
