Glacier Express Bridge - Swiss Alps Train Photography

The red Glacier Express curves across the Landwasser Viaduct, the train threading the famous six-arched bridge in the Swiss Alps. Completed in 1902, the limestone viaduct stands 65 meters high and bends directly into a tunnel cut into the cliff face — one of the most recognizable structures on the Rhaetian Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage route. The Glacier Express itself runs roughly eight hours between Zermatt and St. Moritz, billed without irony as the slowest express train in the world. The frame catches the train mid-curve, its scale set by the alpine slopes rising behind it. A photograph of engineering and mountain landscape meeting on a single arc.
